"Led Zeppelin: Led Zeppelin" was released simultaneously with the 3-disc CD set "How The West Was Won," which could also be the subtitle of the DVD. More of a documentary than a movie, the DVD features live footage of the infamous band during their early formative years, at their peak shining moments, and shortly before they disbanded following their drummer, John Bonham's, tragic death. When the performances are watched in chronological order, the viewer gets a clear picture of the evolution of the band. The lead singer Robert Plant gets his incredible voice under control a couple years into their career, while the guitarist, Jimmy Page starts to lose control of his instrument about halfway through their career due to heroin usage. Bonus interviews give depth to the quieter members of the band, John Paul Jones and John Bonham.
