“Powder” is the coming of age story of an albino boy named Jeremy 'Powder' Reed (Sean Patrick Flanery). When an elderly rural resident of a small Southern town dies, Sheriff Barnum (Lance Henriksen) finds Powder in the basement. He has never experienced the world outside of his home except through a mirage of books having never been permitted to step outside of the home. Now a ward of the state, Powder is sent to a state home for boys and has a problem fitting in. Not only because of the normal awkward coming of age for most boys but topped with his appearance and evident unusual abilities cause Powder to become reserved. Some view Powder as a Godsend while other view him as a tool of the Devil. This special boy’s presence touches and changes everyone around him in a way no one could ever imagine.
