Taking place in the early 80's, porn star John Holmes (Val Kilmer) juggles between his underaged girlfriend (Kate Bosworth) and his wife (Lisa Kudrow). Seeing a news report on the grisly murder, the events leading up to it are told in the flashbacks of David Lind (Dylan McDermott). Down on his luck, Holmes winds up in a gang, doing various tasks to get in their graces. Eventually he double-crosses Palestinian gangster Eddie Nash (Eric Bogosian) by giving the gang access to burglarize him. Nash finds out, gets Holmes beaten up, and enlists him to get revenge ... or he'll chop off his member and kill everyone he knows. On July 1, 1981, almost everyone in "The Wonderland Gang" were beaten to death with metal pipes... though Holmes works to maintain his innocence before police questioning.
